Department of War SkillBridge Internship Program

Next Move NY is certified through the Department of War (DOW) as a SkillBridge Internship program. This allows Next Move NY to partner with regional employers to create and submit training plans for internship opportunities for Soldiers transitioning from the military.
For Soldiers-SkillBridge matches civilian opportunities to your job training and work experience at the end of your military duty. Any rank, enlisted or officer, may apply for SkillBridge, and it permits you to use up to the last 180 days of service to train and learn with an industry provider. During the SkillBridge internship the Soldier continues to receive military compensation and military benefits. To learn more about the SkillBridge Internship contact Eric Lo with Next Move NY.
For Businesses-Next Move NY is a certified DOW SkillBridge Internship program. Next Move NY staff will work with your business to help create and submit a training plan for internship opportunities within your business with the ultimate goal of making meaningful connections that lead to gainful employment post-military service. Once your training plan is accepted by DOW, your internship opportunities become available to all service members leaving the military from across the country giving you an advantage in attracting and retaining a valuable workforce to your business and the North Country.
